Wear and Care
JOLA Jewelry is designed to be well-worn and well-loved. However, it's important to follow proper care instructions to keep your pieces shining for years to come. We utilize various materials, so be sure to check the product's display page and take care accordingly. In general, we advise the following:
- Avoid contact with sunscreen at all costs!
- Avoid contact with water, perfumes, chemicals, and lotions when possible
- Clean jewelry with a microfiber cloth and store in a cool, dry place

Gold Plated
Most of JOLA's gold pieces are thick gold plated. This means that contact with water is OK, but frequent exposure can eventually cause irreversible tarnishing. Therefore, we recommend against wearing these pieces to shower and swim. Exposure to sunscreen will cause tarnish.

Sterling Silver
Sterling silver jewelry is known for its bright and shiny finish. Contact with water is OK, but frequent exposure can result in tarnishing over time. You are able to remove the tarnish by polishing with warm water, dish soap, and a microfiber cloth.

Stainless Steel
Slightly darker in color than sterling silver, stainless steel jewelry is loved for it's resistance to tarnishing. These pieces are extremely durable, so you can shower, swim, sweat, and sleep in them without the item changing color.
